The Hospital Surge Evaluation Tool is a user-friendly peer assessment tool that helps hospitals identify gaps in their surge planning through a no-notice drill. This tool was developed by RAND Health under a contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR).

This Concept of Operations (CONOPS) provides the conceptual framework for coordination and guidance of HHS federal-level human services for preparedness, response, and recovery for disasters and public health emergencies.  The CONOPS describes how HHS transitions from normal operations of human services program delivery to a coordinated, Department-wide response to the human services elements of a public health and medical emergency.

NIMS has announced the release of the first version of the Resource Typing Library Tool (RTLT). The RTLT is an online catalogue of national resource typing definitions and job titles/position qualifications. Definitions and job titles/position qualifications are easily searchable & discoverable through the RTLT.  They can be viewed directly on the web page, downloaded in PDF format or directly used by third party software applications using the available Web Services application programming interface (API).
